In the Bible, we find that knowing the truth about ghosts and demons is more than just an academic exercise. Rather, it is knowing the difference between God and Satan, good and evil, life and death. The Bible promises a time of great spiritual darkness, called “the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth” (Revelation 3:10), and that only those whose faith is firmly established upon the true Word of God will escape deception.
We don’t know exactly when this “hour of trial” will come, but we believe it will be soon. The only way to be sure you are ready when that time comes is to know the truth today.
We’ve seen that the Bible clearly states that death brings unconsciousness while we wait for the resurrection promised by Jesus Christ, and that no disembodied soul that contains our consciousness lingers on once our bodies die. We’ve seen that any such “ghost” or other supernatural phenomena are truly fallen angels/demons, acting with one goal: making you believe anything at all besides the truth about God. We’ve explored how this explains the vast and diverse understandings of ghosts, life after death, and spirits that exist across the many cultures of the world.
We’re sure you’ve noticed the explosion in popularity of things relating to magic, spirits, ghosts, strange phenomena, and the occult across the world in recent times. From children’s books such as the Harry Potter series to movies like Paranormal Activity to the rapid expansion of spiritualist churches and the influence of spiritualist ideas in Christian thinking, this topic is clearly of interest to many people around the world. But this should not surprise us. The Bible told us this would happen.
First Timothy 4:1 warns us, “Now the [Holy] Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.” This is exactly what we see occurring around the world today.
This Bible passage tells us that this will occur in “latter times.” We believe this is evidence that something big is coming across the world very soon. We urge you to weigh the evidence and decide for yourself:
- Modern studies of ghosts and supernatural phenomena have no uniform science between professional groups. There is no foundational, authoritative text that explains what these ghosts and spirits are. Even the equipment and terminology used to define and study these strange events vary by group.
- By contrast, the Bible claims the authority of the Almighty God. It contains detailed prophecies outlining the rise and fall of specific nations throughout time. It explains, in detail, the nature of life and death and exposes the great controversy between good and evil that reveals the truth about ghosts, evil spirits, and other unexplainable events on Earth.
Today, the choice is yours. The Bible can set you free from superstition, error, and fear. It can give you power over the supernatural world’s deceptions by making plain all of the devil’s lies.
